HOLOGISTICS

Green & Smart Logistics Solutions

HOLOGISTICS is a Europe-wide collaborative project implementing open standard logistics innovations that support freight decarbonisation while increasing efficiency and flexibility across multimodal transport networks.

The project will apply interoperable physical and digital solutions, including AI, synchromodality, automation, innovative cargo handling & transport technology, IoT, Digital Twins and collaborative data sharing, to enable seamless optimization and management of rail transport, zero emission vehicles and autonomous vessels.

HOLOGISTICS also supports and advances the Physical Internet concept and contributes to the European Union's 2030 Climate Target Plan by enabling smarter, cleaner logistics operations.

Low-emission synchromodal logistics through scalable digital and physical innovations

Synchromodal Logistics & Optimization

MJC² will apply its advanced synchromodal scheduling algorithms to large-scale logistics networks and operations in Europe.

These algorithms will integrate with real-time inventory models and support collaborative resource sharing and physical interoperability across logistics networks. They will be scaled up to optimize multimodal transport operations and increase the use of zero emission modes.

MJC²'s solutions have been applied to many logistics operations, ranging from parcel logistics to container shipping and bulk materials, and will play a key role in HOLOGISTICS's scheduling and optimization activities.

These new tools will enhance progress toward the Physical Internet and increase the agility and sustainability of logistics operations.

Pan-European Demonstration & Integration

The HOLOGISTICS consortium includes 25 partners from 15 countries, with demonstrations and pilots in many locations across Europe.

The project will implement and evaluate 12 open standard services and processes at multimodal logistics nodes. Simulations will use KPIs from the pilots to assess impact and scalability across more complex networks.

HOLOGISTICS builds on previous Horizon and CEF projects and will contribute to the Common European Mobility Data Space via open access integration and compliance with the DTLF framework.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2024 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101202556.
